Husky Rescue来自芬兰赫尔辛基,以贝斯手Marko Nyberg为创作核心,成员包括女主唱Reeta-Leena Korhola 、吉他手Miika Colliander、键盘手Ville Riippa与鼓手Anssi Sopanen。2005年首张专辑《Country Falls》弛放电音、民谣、乡村摇滚的折衷风格,音色与旋律富有创造性,在斯堪地那维亚半岛雪夜的意象中透露着热切情感,仿佛冰天雪地望见救援队到来,迷茫迸射出光芒,听着听着让人感到宁静与温暖,重新涌现起意志力与生命力,成功抓住了Air、Zero 7等乐迷的目光。
令乐迷期待两年之久的第二张专辑《Ghost Is Not Real》有着悄然滑过的吉他声响,庄严凛然的电子声层,女主唱Reeta-Leena Korhola歌声更显动人,听起来有如电影配乐的深情低语,似溪谷里的一缕春风,甜蜜、飘渺而悦耳,为气氛营增添了很多分数,相较于Nina Persson (The Cardigans)、Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley / Postal Service)等著名女声,她的表现毫不逊色。整张专辑充满空间感,散发出北极光的圈晕,是很适合冬夜聆听的音乐。
《Ghost Is Not Real》有一种温暖的敏锐度与透明感,缓缓沉入梦乡的平稳心境,仍有许多让人惊喜的转折,例如〈Nightless Night〉摇滚节奏闪现出铮铮清脆的吉他拨弦,竟有美国大西部的荒凉孤寂感。〈Blueberry Tree〉三部曲编织起长达十分钟的摇滚史诗,蒸汽火车取样如旷野晴空直劈落下的紫色闪电,听起来很有画面。特别是第三部分的后摇滚吉他演奏,眼前再度浮现起大雪纷飞,晶莹剔透的北国景色。
Kustaa Saksi为Husky Rescue的视觉与封面设计,适切呈现出千湖之国冷冽、自然而亲切的美学基调,让人想起早逝的芬兰女诗人索德格朗(Edith Sodergran,1892-1923)在《冷却的白昼》里的诗句:「将瞬息雕谢的红玫瑰,紧握在燃烧的手中」。Marko Nyberg热爱电影,深受大卫林区(David Lynch)和拉斯冯提尔(Lars Von Trier)的影响,如果说乐队名称雪地救援队给人卓绝坚忍、咬紧牙关的印象,Husky Rescue的音乐听起来倒像是温暖木屋里的摇篮曲,而即使在最清醒明了的时刻,Marko Nyberg的编曲仍蒙上一层厚厚的迷蒙之美,Reeta-Leena Korhola甜美歌声则有着点点闪逝的神秘感,再度呼应着索德格朗,将近一个世纪之前的赞叹:「我已看到秋天那布满星星的深奥宇宙,我已看到温暖的炉边那远处的光亮」。
"Ghost Is Not Real" is the follow up to HUSKY RESCUE`s acclaimed debut album, 2004`s Country Falls. The album, instead, is jammed with subtle imagery and lush orchestration, an edifice built to express emotions but painted in broad expansive strokes. "I never listen to music when I begin to compose," he reveals, "I start building a small universe around me. When I was a kid I used to make model aeroplanes; making music is very similar but there`s no plan to follow. Initially, I put ten pieces of A4 paper on my floor at home and started to draw something, compiling images from magazines, papers, making a collage." The collage fortunately bloomed into an album overflowing with Marko`s momentous, elusive ghosts of the title. "You can decide what the ghosts are for yourself," he concludes, "Ghosts are everywhere."
